The minutes of the regular meeting of the Ways and Means Committee of the Town of James Island held Tuesday, May 11, 2004 at 6:30 p.m. at Town Hall located at 1246 Camp Road.
The meeting was called to order by Councilman Bill Wilder, presiding as Mayor Pro-Tempore, with Councilmen Joe Qualey, Parris Williams, Bill Woolsey and Mayor Mary Clark present, as well as Attorney Mike Socha and Clerk-Treasurer Marie Copeland.
Councilman Bill Woolsey moved that the minutes of the meeting of April 20, 2004 be accepted as written and Councilman Qualey seconded. The vote of Council was unanimous to adopt the minutes.
Treasurer’s Report: Attached. A brief discussion was held about the Town’s share of the local option sales tax. Councilman Woolsey asked if the Town had obtained a list of taxpayers; this will determine who should receive the local option rebate.

New Business: Councilman Qualey requested and was granted permission to amend the agenda. He then made a motion to amend Ordinance # 2004-12 to allow the compensation for the Planning Commission Chairman to be retroactive to April 20th, the motion was seconded by Councilman Wilder and unanimously approved.
With no further business to come before this committee Councilman Qualey moved to adjourn; the second was from Councilman Williams and the vote was unanimous.
