Skin Biopsy for Treat the Different Skin Health Problems

In a skin biopsy, a doctor takes a sample of skin tissue for examine in a microscope. The skin biopsy is so beneficial and doctor do skin biopsy for diagnosing and to monitor possible health problems such as skin infections (Staph), skin rashes or conditions (eczema or psoriasis), skin disease ( cancer ), other medical problems that effect skin like metabolic disorder ( in which so much or so little hormone or other body chemical present in a person). In skin biopsy, the doctor takes a tiny piece of skin of the affected area. After that, skin tissue is treated by a special chemical in a lab, where doctor examine it under a microscope for determining, what it is the health problem. Once the doctor recognizes the health problem, the doctor provides you right treatment. Before getting the skin biopsy, you need to be prepared.

Before skin biopsy, your doctor will ask something such as:-

  1. Are you taking any kind of medicine, especially anti inflammatory medicines like Prednisone? The Anti inflammatory medicine could adversely affect the skin biopsy.
  2. Do you have any allergy?
  3. Do you have any bleeding problems or are you taking any blood thinning medicines like aspirin or Warfarin (Coumadin).
  4. Are you pregnant?

Procedure of Skin biopsy

There are several procedures of skin biopsy such as shave procedure, punch procedure and an incision procedure.  The skin biopsy is a safe procedure with slight risk of bleeding and infection. In case, if the area of skin doesn’t seem healing, became red and it feel more painful at that condition must meet with the doctor.
